SYSC is excited to announce the partnership with Algoma University and remains committed to enhancing development and pathway opportunities in Sault Ste. Marie. To further advance this commitment, starting in September 2024, SYSC will be offering a bursary program in sum of $7500 dollars per year for 5 years to all SYSC players recruited to play soccer at Algoma University or Sault College. SYSC players who graduate from the program will be eligible for a one-time $1500 bursary. Eligibility will be available for up to 5 SYSC players per year. 

At Sault Youth Soccer Club, we believe in supporting our athletes both on and off the field. Our Sault Youth Soccer Club Bursary is designed to help student-athletes continue their education while competing at the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) level with Algoma University.

This bursary recognizes players who have demonstrated dedication to the game, strong academic performance, and a commitment to personal and athletic growth.

This bursary is available to graduating players from Sault Youth Soccer Club who plan to continue their soccer career at Algoma University while pursuing higher education. Eligible applicants should demonstrate:

✔ A history of participation in SYS Club programs
✔ A commitment to academic success
✔ A passion for soccer and sportsmanship

To apply, applicants must submit:

1. A completed application form (available below)
2. A personal statement outlining their soccer journey and academic goals
3. A letter of recommendation from a coach or teacher
